Every single harvest we produce undergoes rigorous third-party testing at accredited South African laboratories. The results are published here as Certificates of Analysis (COAs).

What is a COA?

A Certificate of Analysis is a verified document that outlines the chemical makeup of a product. It serves as your guarantee that what is on the label matches what is in the box.

Our testing suite includes:

  • Alkaloid Profiling (HPLC): A detailed breakdown of the "Big Four" alkaloids: Mesembrine, Mesembrenone, Mesembrenol, and Mesembranol.

  • Total Alkaloid Content: Verification of the total percentage of active alkaloids by weight.

  • Safety Screening: Ensuring the raw material is free from heavy metals (Lead, Cadmium, Mercury, Arsenic) and residual agrochemicals.

  • Microbial Analysis: Comprehensive testing for aerobic plate count, yeast, mold, and pathogens like E. coli and Salmonella.

  • Identification: Verification that the species is indeed Sceletium tortuosum via HPTLC or macroscopic analysis.
